Grade 4

Grade Four

As a grade level, students have been asked to take pictures of items that represent the history, geography and culture of Japan. We will be using these photos and comments to develop an understanding of how history and geography shape a culture.

Add comments or questions in English or Japanese in order to help us really develop a deeper understanding of Japan.

It was made in Anagama kiln, fired at high temperatures for 5 to 6 days. Japanese people continued to like this unglaised high-fired stoneware even after making porcelain.

This picture is a picture of snow shoe's for the winter because the shoe Japanese wore a long time ago were on just two simple wood slits they were like stilts. If they wore the japanese styled shoes they would sink and they would get buried in snow.
